I Hope Jenn Tran’s Latest Career Move Means She’s Leaving Bachelor Nation Behind
The Bachelorette season 21 star Jenn Tran made history as the first Asian American Bachelor franchise lead, but her season ended in such a disaster that I hope that her latest career move means that she's leaving Bachelor Nation behind for good. Jenn began her journey as a contestant on Joey Graziadei's Bachelor season. She told him that she was falling for him, which made him very happy, but he ultimately said goodbye to her right before his hometown dates. Jenn was then ecstatic to be cast as the Bachelorette.
However, The Bachelorette season 21 took a terrible turn when Jenn's final choice, Devin Strader, to whom she had proposed, breaking even more new ground on the show, broke up with her. Jenn was humiliated by this, following a season full of problematic contestants who seemed to care more about drama than her. Although her breakup was devastating for her, Jenn was immediately cast on Dancing With The Stars season 33, alongside her professional dance partner, Sasha Farber, who's now her rumored boyfriend. Now, Jenn has an exciting new career update which I hope will free her from Bachelor Nation for good.

Jenn Will Return To Her Original Career
I was so happy to hear that, in 2025, Jenn will be returning to school in March to complete her master's degree in order to pursue her original career as a physician assistant. Jenn had taken a break from working on her studies in order to participate in The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and Dancing With The Stars. In an interview with People, Jenn shared that it's "really intimidating to go back." She explained, "I didn't realize how much time I had taken off until now." She's currently starting the process of getting her paperwork in and registering for her courses again because she plans to go back in March.
Jenn explained that she has a lot of work that she needs to do before she goes back to school, including refresher courses, in order to get back to the level that she was at before she put her studies on pause. Jenn must complete the second of two years of her coursework in order to complete her degree. She'll also be supervised by professionals in her field.
Jenn shared that in the second year, "you start working in the clinics with doctors and PAs and nurses and everything, and getting a feel for what it's like. I finished two rotations already, so I only have six more to go and then I'm free, and then I'm a PA, which is also really scary." She added, "I am going back, and it's just going to take time and a lot of hard work, but it's something that I'm so passionate about. I've been wanting to study medicine my whole life, and it's just something that feels like I would regret if I didn't finish."
I've been wanting to study medicine my whole life, and it's just something that feels like I would regret if I didn't finish.
Jenn explained that she took some time off from her medical career in order to "let things die down" after her Bachelorette journeybefore she returns to a clinical setting. She said that she didn't want to give a patient a physical exam and have them recognize her and tell her that they knew everything about her. Jenn knows that it'll probably be "a weird experience" for her patients, but she's still looking forward to it. She said, "I don't know, I've never done this before. I don't know if anyone has ever done this trajectory before, so we're just going to take it one day at a time and see what happens."
Jenn is also excited to use social media to document her return to school and her career as a physician assistant. She shared that she was cast on The Bachelor because she was on TikTok sharing her day-to-day life in physician assistant school. A casting producer saw her content and reached out to her about appearing on the show.
Jenn explained that using social media to talk about her career was something that she enjoyed doing before. She expressed that she's really excited to get back to doing it now because she knows that a lot of her fans are based in medicine, and they're excited to see her go back to her physician assistant career. I'mdefinitely excited to see Jenn returning to her physician assistant career, not only because she'll be renewing her passion, but because I believe that she should distance herself from the Bachelor franchise as much as possible.
Jenn Should Leave Bachelor Nation Behind
Jenn Deserves So Much Better Than The Bachelor Franchise
I know that Jenn deserved so much better than what happened to her on her Bachelorette season. I felt that Jenn was treated like an afterthought from the beginning, as the show allowed fan-favorite Bachelor season 28 contestants Maria Georgas and Daisy Kent to reveal that they'd both turned down the lead role, which made Jenn seem like the third choice. Jenn and Maria's friendship even ended over this. I was so sad to see that Jenn's season was off to such a terrible start.
I was also disappointed by the fact that the producers announced Joan Vassos as the Golden Bachelorette season 1 lead before Jenn's season even premiered, and Grant Ellis as the Bachelor season 29 lead during Jenn's season. They could've let Jenn have her moment in the sun and waited to make these announcements, especially because Joan's season didn't even premiere until after Jenn's, and Grant's won't debut until 2025. Jenn always seemed to be completely overshadowed. I always felt as though the producers were just waiting for Jenn's season to end so that they could focus on other things.
In addition, I was appalled by how much producer manipulation appeared to be going on during Jenn's Bachelorette season. I feel that the producers interfered, casting plants such as Aaron Erb, Sam McKinney, Thomas Nguyen, and even Devin, in order to create drama on the show. In addition, during the vetting process, they missed the restraining order that one of Devin's exes took out against him, which could've even put Jenn in danger. The producers never seemed to truly care about Jenn, which was so evident from how they treated her during her finale.
I was especially disgusted during the finale when host Jesse Palmer asked Jenn if she was ready to watch the proposal after her breakup was revealed. Jenn asked if she had a choice, and then was forced to watch the proposal while crying, with Devin sitting right next to her. I hope that Jenn's focus on her physician assistant career will now keep her far away from the Bachelor franchise.
However, I'm happy that Jenn still has some aspirations to continue her entertainment career. She said, "I am going to be very, very busy with school, but I want to also still have my toe dipped into this whole new world that L.A. has opened me up to, and I've really been enjoying it so far. So, we'll see whether that's a hosting gig or whether that's launching something — I don't know yet." I think that it'll be empowering for Jenn to continue to appear in the public eye, but far away from the Bachelor franchise.

I feel that Jenn's return to her physician assistant career is exciting, but also necessary for her to move on with her life. It'll be like she's going back to her true self, before the Bachelor franchise destroyed her confidence. Dancing With The Stars helped Jenn to get the light back in her life, and now her latest career move will allow her to be even more fulfilled. I hope that, whatever Jenn decides to do next, she distances herself from the Bachelor franchise because it doesn't deserve her, and she deserves so much better.
