Craig appeared on WWHL on Thursday, Feb. 6, where he revealed where he stands with Austen today. "We're working on our friendship now, and I think we needed — you can't work together until you're friends," he noted.
He continued to address the fact that they are still co-owners of their Charleston restaurant, By The Way, and still have their podcast together, Pillows and Beer, even though a new episode has not been posted since November. "Working with friends is interesting," he said. "Work ethics are just different. I think Austen and I know we have something good."
Austen appeared on WWHL a week earlier, on Jan. 30, where he addressed his side of the friendship, telling WWHL host, Andy Cohen, that their friendship is "hot and cold." "Craig is going through something, so I'm trying to push all of that aside to be there for him," he said, as seen in the video above.
He also gave some insight into how hard it was to see their friendship go into disarray during Southern Charm Season 10, noting that it didn't "feel good to hear" that Craig thought he felt like a "stranger." "I think that is his own doing," he said.
Despite their differences, Austen does not regret going into business with Craig. "Craig's got the Midas touch sometimes, doesn't he? I like going into business with friends and that was before this season had filmed and aired and so that was before all this happened," he added.
