Vanderpump Rules Alum Lala Kent Weighs in on Brock Davies Cheating on Scheana Shay

Kent acknowledged she and Davies have "had our ups and downs" but she praised him as "a great father"

Lala Kent is weighing in on the latest cheating scandal that has rocked the Vanderpump Rules fandom.

On the July 14 episode of her Give Them Lala podcast, Kent, 34, offered her opinion on Scheana Shay revealing in her forthcoming memoir, My Good Side, that her husband, Brock Davies, cheated on her while she was pregnant with their daughter, Summer Moon.

Kent said Shay called her the day before the excerpt was published by Glamour on July 10 to give her a heads up.

"I won't share exactly what she said on the phone because that's between she and her husband," Kent said, adding that she thought Shay's memoir excerpt "was beautifully written."

Kent went on to say she has "had time to process" the news and gave her opinion about Davies as a father.

Kent said she and Davies have "had our ups and downs and I've said some things to him and called out some red flags to me," as fans saw on Vanderpump Rules.

"Since then," she continued, "what I have watched is him be a great father to Summer Moon."

Kent also said she has observed Davies with her own daughters, Ocean and Sosa, adding, "I just find him to be a very hands-on and great dad."

Kent acknowledged that everyone will "say whatever they want" about Davies' and his past, admitting, "I certainly did."

"What I know about life is it doesn't always go as we planned," she explained. "There are a million moments that I look back on in my own life and go, 'Damn, you know, if I could get a redo I would really do that differently.'"

"I know for a fact he feels that way," she said of Davies.

In a 2021 episode of Vanderpump Rules, Kent accused Davies of not seeing his older children, who live with his ex-wife in Australia, for four years. He later confirmed that was true.

Kent also shared her opinion on what a person should do if their partner cheats on them and they decide to stay together.

"For me, the moment that you find out that your person has cheated on you — if you decide to stay — that is you forgiving that person and you have to find a way to move on from it," she declared. "You cannot hold it over their head forever."

Kent clarified that she was not speaking on behalf of Shay in any way or telling people to always forgive their partner for being unfaithful by sharing this opinion.

"This is just me talking. I know that I'm the type of person that would hold it over your head for the rest of your life," she said. "I would have to just be done [with the relationship]."

Shay revealed in her memoir excerpt that she was in "a state of paralyzed shock" when Davies confessed about the affair.

"Just when I thought my world had been rocked beyond anything I could have imagined, it was officially shattered into pieces — pieces I wasn't sure I could put back together," Shay wrote. "I didn't want to believe what he was telling me, and, oddly, I didn't know how to react, either. I was so angry, so sad, and so hurt; those were givens."

"There was this deep fury bubbling inside of me, and I couldn’t release it. If I screamed, I could wake up my daughter. Our daughter. His baby, whom I’d been carrying while he was in bed with another woman."

The television personality said Davies wrote her a letter detailing the "brief affair" in which he assured her it was "purely physical" and "never emotional."

Shay and Davies got engaged in July 2021 and married in August 2022.
