The Bold and the Beautiful Performer of the Week: Katherine Kelly Lang as Brooke Logan

The Bold and the Beautiful's Brooke Logan has been reciting the same exact lines for months, begging Ridge to come home. It's been one-note and redundant, but this week, things finally changed, and Katherine Kelly Lang appeared to relish it.

A new destiny for The Bold and the Beautiful's Brooke

Watching Lang and Brooke light up when Brooke thought Ridge returned to Eric's office, when she was once again donning lingerie, but finding Nick Marone there was delightful. Within minutes, Lang gave Brooke a fresh new pep in her step. Rather than brooding, Brooke was smiling.

And that kiss. Lang imbued a schoolgirl quality into Brooke as she recovered from the surprise of being swept off her feet in a passionate kiss from her alternate destiny. As Nick admitted to Brooke why he was really in L.A. — to see her — Brooke began to think about what life with someone who loved her and only her would be like.

Then, Ridge walked into the room, and Lang took Brooke right back to the woman who always wants to please Ridge. She could quickly tell he was jealous and had a look of satisfaction on her face.

A new man in Brooke's mind

The next day, Lang took Brooke into defense mode as Katie questioned her sister about her encounter with Nick. Even Katie wondered if Brooke was ready for a brand-new destiny and pointed out that Brooke might want a man who would treat her right.

Brooke seemed blindsided by that statement and wasn't quite sure what to say. She appeared to think about it for a minute, but then affirmed that it was Ridge whom she wanted because he was her destiny. However, as the words came out, Brooke sounded a bit unsure. You could tell she was thinking about what Katie said, as Katie's words affected her.

By Friday, Brooke was in passive-aggressive mode with Taylor, but she's now been given food for thought. The wheels in Brooke's head are now turning as she wonders if there is something more for her out there than Ridge. A change of pace and a change of destiny are definitely giving Katherine Kelly Lang a lot more to play with.
