Jennifer Aydin said The Real Housewives of New Jersey wouldn’t work without Teresa Giudice, and she claimed any Real Housewives franchise “loses” some “luster” when the OG is removed. She also addressed the aftermath of her husband Bill Aydin’s past affair, admitting she wanted to “embarrass” him.
Jennifer’s friend Teresa is the only original castmate who’s still on the show. After last season, however, reports surfaced that a major shakeup is on the horizon, and no one knows who – if anyone – will return, though one report claims Teresa, Jennifer, and Dolores are safe.
“It takes time to get invested in new characters, and Teresa really is the OG from the beginning … I feel like the audience is really invested in Teresa,” said Jennifer on My Friend, My Soulmate, My Podcast, via @joyrosenberg on X. “And especially with her four daughters thriving and her new life with Louie, I feel like there’s so much interesting content.”
Jennifer hopes “Teresa comes back” with “a few [castmates] that get along with her.”
“But at the end of the day, I believe, I believe [if] they were going to keep anybody, for sure I would say Teresa … I don’t think the show could be Housewives of New Jersey with a few of us and not Teresa.”
According to Jennifer, when the OG is “removed” on Real Housewives, the show “somehow loses a little luster.”
She also addressed her husband’s past affair, which Margaret Josephs exposed in season 12. Jennifer shared that she didn’t know how Margaret uncovered it, but she noted that Margaret “was friends with people at this practice that this affair happened at.”
“I will say that when the affair happened, I did write an email blast to the office manager, talking about the home wrecker that they let into their office,” she recalled, via Heavy. “[I] was a woman scorned … [and] was very hurt.”
“I did let his practice know. Because obviously, I wanted to embarrass him,” she explained. Jennifer said she revealed the affair only to the office manager and a friend living in Miami. She told the friend because Bill was visiting there for a conference after the affair.
“He had to go. And he was meeting up with a colleague whose wife was this woman. I had told her what happened. And then she was like you should come with him,” she shared.
As for why she forgave him, Jennifer said she and Bill “are both committed to the commitment.”
“He didn’t want to give up. I didn’t want to give up. I thought, ‘Okay, just because he did a bad thing, people make mistakes and this is the father of my children. And I should not just penalize him on one mistake.’ He treats me very well. He’s very respectful,” continued Jennifer, who said she believes Bill cheated because he “was feeling himself” and also was “making money.” The star added that she was “pregnant with [her] fourth child” when it happened.
“I had three other kids, under five. And maybe there’s part of me, I wasn’t paying attention to him. This is true. Like, I was always tired. The kids always came first. Whatever, it was the perfect storm. We dealt with it,” she said, noting that she now chooses not to mention the affair during arguments with Bill.
