Eagles' first injury report vs Packers offers reassurance on QB Jalen Hurts

There is officially no more reason to worry about the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback situation.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith (6) and quarterback Jalen Hurts (1) celebrate their touchdown connection against the Carolina Panthers during the second quarter at Lincoln Financial Field.

Eagles starting quarterback Jalen Hurts (concussion/left finger) returned to practice on Wednesday and although he was limited, he looked "sharp," according to teammate Lane Johnson.

"He looked really sharp," Johnson told reporters. "It was his first time back full speed and we had a crisp practice. He’s been dialed in."

In addition to Hurts, three other Eagles players were limited: wide receiver A.J. Brown (knee/rest), quarterback Kenny Pickett (ribs), and running back Will Shipley (ankle).

The only player who did not practice was backup left guard Trevor Keegan (illness).

Eagles vs. Packers Wild Card Round Injury Report Observations

  • Quarterback Jalen Hurts's concussion happened in Week 16's loss to the Washington Commanders. He is still in concussion protocol and in order to clear the process he must practice and have zero symptoms the following day.
  • Backup quarterback Kenny Pickett injured his ribs in Week 16 and then again in Week 17.
  • The Eagles released quarterback Ian Book, which is a sign that their QB room is healthy.
  • Wide receiver A.J. Brown injured his knee ahead of Week 16's matchup but has played through the injury.
  • Wide receiver DeVonta Smith (wrist/rest) is off the injury report after landing on it last week.
  • The Eagles opened tight Dallas Goedert (knee) returned from Injured Reserve last week and played in the season finale.
  • Linebacker Nakobe Dean (abdomen) returned to action last week after missing Week 17's game with an abdomen injury.
  • The Eagles opened defensive tackle Byron Young's (hamstring) 21-day practice window.
  • Bryce Huff (wrist) played in the Eagles' last two regular-season games.
  • All Eagles starters practiced at some capacity on Wednesday.
