Following their pick of Tyler Booker, the Dallas Cowboys still have plenty of needs to address over the rest of the 2025 NFL Draft. But how they go about it will likely be all about their board and how it stands right now.
That's what we learned in Day 1 when they passed on wide receiver to pick an offensive guard. And while it's unbelievably difficult to predict what will happen rounds two and three, we're giving it a shot!
Let's dive in.
Round 2, Pick 44: WR Jayden Higgins, Iowa State
Compared to Nico Collins by The Athletic's draft analyst Dane Brugler, Higgins is listed as a "boom or bust" prospect by the A to Z Sports' draft team. He posted back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons at Iowa State and at 6-foot-4, he's someone the Cowboys could bet on to make a Week 1 impact who can play outside or inside.
The Cowboys have an overwhelming need at wide receiver and waiting beyond the second round could spell serious trouble. The good news is Higgins would provide value at this stage of the draft.
Round 3, Pick 76: RB Damien Martinez, Miami
In Javonte Williams, the Cowboys found their third-down back who can catch and pass protect. Martinez could give them the early-down piece they're missing. He's a big-bodied running back who can punish defenders with his physicality. Though he's often knocked for not having breakaway speed on film and lacked home runs, he sure as heck had a high batting average: In each of his three years in college football (Two at Oregon State, one at Miami), he averaged over six yards per attempt.
Though the two above picks would take care of major needs for the Cowboys, you can expect them to base their decisions entirely based on their big board, for better or worse.
Defensive line and cornerback are among other positions the Cowboys could likely target in Day 2.
