The Boston Celtics are once again one of the best teams in the NBA. To this point in the season, they hold a 46-18 record, which has them at No. 2 in the Eastern Conference.
Not only are the Celtics No. 2 in the East, they are also the third-best team in the NBA standings. Only the Cleveland Cavaliers and Oklahoma City Thunder have better records than Boston.
After winning the NBA Finals last season, the Celtics are feeling very good about their chances to repeat.
Boston will have to beat the teams above them and will face stiff competition from other teams come playoff time, but the Celtics have a different level they can play at.
Despite not being the best team in the NBA right now, one Boston legend doesn't see another team that can hang with the Celtics when they are playing their best basketball.
Paul Pierce spoke out with a bold take about Boston.
During a segment on "Speak," Pierce made it clear that he thinks the Celtics are the best team in the league.
"The Celtics at their complete best are just far better than everybody," Pierce stated.
There are some who would disagree with that statement.
When playoff basketball arrives and a seven-game series decides a winner, the Celtics will happily face off against any team in the NBA. Their best is a step above what other teams can usually do.
There is a lot of work left to do and Boston will have to prove itself once again, but last season showed that when the Celtics play their best they're extremely difficult to beat.
