Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown has decided to chime in on arguably the most hotly-contested topic in the WNBA right now. This centers around the Rookie of the Year race between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, who have both emerged as bona fide superstars in their respective debut campaigns.
For his part, it is now clear which of these two ladies Brown is supporting.
Boston Celtics Star Jaylen Brown Picks Angel Reese Over Caitlin Clark
A handful of players were recently asked to share their pick in the WNBA ROTY race. Brown was one of the respondents in the survey and the Celtics star made his choice abundantly clear.
To be fair, Brown did caveat his statement by saying “right now,” which could imply that his pick could change depending on what happens in the remainder of the season. However, if the Rookie of the Year trophy was going to be given out tomorrow, Brown believes it should be awarded to the Chicago Sky forward.
Some Bias Involved?
There could be a bit of bias on the part of Brown, though. The reigning NBA Finals MVP is currently rumored to be in a romantic relationship with Kysre Gondrezick, who happens to be a former Chicago player. Gondrezick is close friends with Reese, and the trio was actually seen in public together during a recent NBA Summer League game.
It wouldn’t be surprising if Brown gets to hang out with Reese every now and again, which would have made for an awkward conversation if the Celtics superstar picked Clark over his friend. Maybe?
