Blockbuster Trade Pitch Nets Bears 2,300-Yard RB in Contract Year

Breece Hall Still Pursuing Breakout NFL Season

Hall, a second-round pick in the 2022 draft (No. 36 overall), is entering the final season of his four-year rookie contract worth $9 million total. His current market value is $28 million over the course of a new four-year deal, according to Spotrac, though Hall can up that value during the 2025 campaign.

He burst onto the scene as a rookie three years ago, amassing nearly 700 yards from scrimmage and five total TDs through seven games played (two starts). Hall was beginning to get fringe MVP buzz before he suffered an ACL tear against the Denver Broncos in October of that season, which knocked him out for the remainder of the campaign.

Hall, now 24 years old, has tallied 2,333 rushing yards and 14 TDs on the ground as well as 152 receptions for 1,292 receiving yards and eight TDs through the air across his first three NFL seasons.

D’Andre Swift Regressed in Chicago After Pro Bowl Season With Eagles

Swift signed a three-year, $24 million contract with the Bears last offseason. And while he didn’t play poorly, Swift definitely took a step back in Chicago after posting his first Pro Bowl campaign with the Eagles the year prior.

The 26-year-old put up 1,345 yards from scrimmage and six total TDs in Chicago in 2024, though he managed just 3.8 yards per carry — a career low — on 253 attempts.

Third-year running back Roschon Johnson currently occupies the second-string spot on the Bears’ roster, though his production has been spotty over his first two professional seasons. Johnson has also battled multiple concussions early in his career.
