Bears top PFF performers from preseason win over Bengals

Chicago Bears football is back, and with it comes the return of PFF grades.

Pro Football Focus has been an industry leader in football analytics since 2006, and with the new season coming into play, we figured it would be a good idea to highlight some of the top performers on both sides of the ball in each Bears game going forward.

Bears top PFF performers from preseason win over Bengals - Windy City Gridiron

The Bears picked up win No. 3 in just as many preseason games on Saturday, defeating the Bengals 27-3 in their first game at Soldier Field in the 2024 season. With yet another dominant win, it’s no surprise there were several top performers from both sides of the ball. Who exactly were those players, though, and does this team have what it takes to get through the entire preseason with an undefeated record?

Here are the top 5 performers from all three phases in the Bears’ win on Saturday.

Offense

  1. QB Tyson Bagent (93.3)
  2. WR Dante Pettis (90.9)
  3. TE Brenden Bates (89.8)
  4. OL Ja’Tyre Carter (81.9)
  5. RT Aviante Collins (79.4)

For those curious, Caleb Williams finished the day with a 64.1 PFF grade, which means the big plays of the last drive only slightly outweighed the offensive ineffectiveness on the earlier drives in their scoring chart.

Defense

  1. FS Tarvarius Moore (82.2)
  2. LB Amen Ogbongbemiga (79.0)
  3. LB Javin White (78.8)
  4. CB Terell Smith (78.5)
  5. DT Gervon Dexter (76.7)

Special teams

  1. LB Carl Jones Jr. (75.4)
