Zay Flowers was a rookie last year and now has jumped into the Pro Bowl, skipping every step in between. The Ravens also skipped some.
Zay Flowers and the Baltimore Ravens have not spent too long together, even by NFL standards. However, in that time, Flowers has elevated himself to be in the conversation with talked-about stars like Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson as one of the faces of the team.
Well, with the wide receiver going from getting pressured by Lamar Jackson to getting into the Pro Bowl, it is clear that some praise is in order. Flowers, who has gone toe-to-toe with the likes of Denver Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II is now a member of the Pro Bowl team.

Zay Flowers reacts
The wide receiver was seemingly the last to learn this, based on a video posted to Twitter/X by the Baltimore Ravens. In the video, Flowers is led to believe that he is in trouble, but it is anything but.
“I thought I was in trouble. … I can cry as crazy it’s something I dreamed of as a kid, and all is right. You know, to participate in something like that. Everyone dreams about it. It’s crazy when it’s something you’re in it,” Flowers said in the video.
The Ravens wide receiver has earned 1047 yards this season with one game to go. The wide receiver has beat out the bar he set in his rookie year of 858 yards and 11.1 yards per carry. He still has a chance to beat his rookie totals of 77 catches and five touchdowns. He currently has 73 catches and four touchdowns.
Zay Flowers becomes notable first
The Baltimore Ravens wide receiver was the first wide receiver voted into the Pro Bowl in team history, according to the video. Of course, the caveat is that the team has only been around since 1996, per Pro Football Reference.
As such, he really is the first wide receiver selected to the Pro Bowl in 29 years, but the accomplishment is still an impressive feat by most standards. Now, the question is whether Flowers can stay hungry enough to get the franchise over the Patrick Mahomes wall and into the Super Bowl.
