Where Do Craig Conover and Shep Rose Stand Today After Southern Charm Season 9 Drama?

The Southern Charm Season 9 reunion aired in January, and a new one has been a long time coming. There was a lot of drama to digest, and fans can only wonder how things are between the cast members in real-time. Namely, in the case of Craig Conover and Shep Rose.

Craig Conover updates fans on his friendship with Shep Rose.

The duo sparred throughout the season. Shep was dealing with the fallout of his relationship with Taylor Ann Green as well. It seems that he was processing some issues behind the scenes, at it came to a head at BravoCon 2023.

When filming the reunion, Shep admitted a need to change his relationship with alcohol. Craig supported his friend on that front but felt the need to take a step back as well. Now, fans are wondering how the two are getting along.

Craig Conover teases a “path forward” with Shep Rose

Craig spoke exclusively to In Touch about filming the hit Bravo show for the past decade.

“I started filming when I was 24, and I’m 36 now,” the Sewing Down South founder explained. “I’ve grown up a lot. Reality TV is a giant mirror you hold up to yourself. Every year you’re trying to get better. It holds you accountable.”

Craig was then asked where he and Shep “stand now.” He felt the real issue was the fact that he had moved forward with his life.

“We’ve accepted that we’re not alike at all; we disagree on almost everything. We’re better than where we were at the reunion, and we’re on a path forward,” Craig revealed.

He added, “Sometimes when people grow and evolve it intimidates other people. We’ve seen on the show for years that people had problems with how I lived my life. It used to be I went out too much and didn’t work enough. Now I work too much and don’t go out enough. But I think they’ve started to accept me for who I am.”

Craig teased that Shep’s “alcohol issues” are a “big storyline this coming season.” As such, he commented on how his support of Shep was a factor in them moving forward.

“I’ve been on my own journey with drinking, and Shep is on his.,” the reality TV star explained. “Anytime you’re dealing with recovery, it’s very important to keep moving forward. Sometimes you’re going to slip up, but I think as long as your intent is good, everyone will be OK.”
