The Las Vegas Raiders couldn't get their stuff together against the Carolina Panthers last week when they lost an embarrassment of a game, and they will be the first ones to tell you that.
They should have won that game, just like they should have beaten the Los Angeles Chargers. Instead, they beat the team they weren't supposed to beat the Baltimore Ravens.
So, they had a team meeting, as crazy as that sounds, and were brought the juice against the Cleveland Browns. They won their first complete game of the year, where both sides of the ball made huge plays, and the offense did it through the air and on the ground.
But the defense, that's what we saw get back to the defense we all know and love. It helps when you have the right mindset, and the perfect example of that is what Adam Butler had to say after the game.
"From the time that the ball snaps, I'm coming to smack a motha***** in the face," Adam Butler said after the 20-16 win over the Browns. "That's how you have to play. This is a grown man's sport.
"You know what I mean? If you don't, they're going to do it to you. So I choose to be the aggressor rather than the punching bag. You know what I mean? So, that's the mindset you have to have, especially being a Raider."
The Raiders did just that -- every single one of them. And Adam Butler showed that in his play maybe more than any other player. He had a huge game, where he was disruptive and always near the quarterback making plays.
If they can continue this mindset and carry it over into every single game, it's going to be hard for anyone to beat them. And, just think, this was without their two best players. Now, they have to have that same mindset against the Denver Broncos, and they could be without several key players once again.
