The Boston Celtics will be celebrated at the White House for being NBA champions.
The White House will welcome the Celtics on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 4:30 p.m., according to the Office of Massachusetts Treasurer Deborah B. Goldberg. The Celtics have yet to officially announce it.
Boston takes on the Washington Wizards on Friday and has two days off after Tuesday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, giving the Celtics time to celebrate their championship with President Joe Biden.

Teams have been visiting the White House after winning their respective championship. The Denver Nuggets, who were 2023 NBA champions, didn’t make it to Washington D.C. last year due to scheduling conflicts. But the Golden State Warriors, who won in 2022, went.
The Milwaukee Bucks’ visit in 2021 was the first time an NBA team visited the White House since 2016.
Thursday’s trip to the white House will mark the first time the Celtics will be honored there since 2008 when they defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in six games.
