What is your prediction for Rams-Lions Week 1?

There is about a week left before the highly-anticipated matchup between the L.A. Rams and the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football. How will the trilogy between Matthew Stafford and Jared Goff play out in Week 1?

Rams-Lions Week 1: What are some predictions ahead of primetime clash? - Turf Show Times

This game features two potential conference contenders and could very well be an NFC Championship preview. Obviously, we have a long football season ahead before making any bold declarations. But why not be aiming for 17-0?

While we look forward to what should be yet another thrilling chapter in one of the NFL’s budding rivalries, how do YOU envision this game going down?

For anyone who’s been living under a rock, the Lions defeated LA 24-23 on Wild Card Weekend last season. Since swapping Goff for Stafford, the Rams are 1-1 against Detroit.

I predict the Rams and Lions will go back-and-forth on a couple touchdown drives throughout the first half. Following the initial offensive fireworks, the game will then morph into a defensive contest before both squads swap late scores. This game will likely come down to who has the ball last.

Matthew Stafford and company missed out on their opportunity to steal a win late at Ford Field in the playoffs. That trend will carry over in this one as the Lions prevent the Rams from scoring a late touchdown, forcing Sean McVay to settle for three. Jared Goff on the other hand capitalizes and makes the plays needed to secure a last-second win pivotal to conference seeding.

My prediction: Lions 27, Rams 24
