Watch: Broncos defense records second safety of first half against Seahawks

The Denver Broncos scored 13 points in the first half of their game against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

That is a pretty normal, common and conventional point total for a team to have in one half of football.

There was, however, absolutely nothing conventional about the way the Broncos achieved those 13 points.

They did it with three field goals and two safeties.

Yes, two safeties.

Their first safety came when the Broncos had Seattle backed up on its own one-yard line to open a series early in the second quarter. On the Seahawks' first play of the drive, offensive lineman Anthony Bradford was called for holding in the end zone, resulting in two points.

Later in the quarter, the Broncos scored on their second safety after the Seahawks were forced to start another series on their own one-yard line.

Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet was then tackled in the backfield, another two points for the Broncos defense.

This is the 26th time in NFL history that a team has recorded two safeties in a game and the first time since the Miami Dolphins did it during the 2017 season. The fact they did it in one half — and within the same quarter — makes it even more unbelievable.
