Vikings cut ties with safety after multiple suspensions

The Minnesota Vikings signed a new offensive lineman on Friday in the form of Vershon Lee.

To do so, they cut a guy who has been suspended multiple times in his football career.

Safety Bubba Bolden is now available as a free agent after his release.

Bolden was suspended three games during the 2024 season by the NFL for a reason that seems to never have been reported.

And back in college at USC, Bolden faced a 28-month suspension for "his role in an off-campus incident."

Bolden hasn't yet played a regular season NFL snap.

He ended up at Miami (Florida) after leaving USC, and he ended up with 85 tackles and two interceptions in 23 games for the Hurricanes.

He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2022.

Bolden runs a 4.47-second 40-yard dash and is listed at 6-foot-3, 204 pounds.

Clearly, teams like his status to keep bringing him around despite some controversy.

But Bolden also hasn't broken through, and he may start running out of chances.
