Raiders’ Christian Wilkins Receives Unfortunate Injury Update

Las Vegas Raiders defensive tackle Christian Wilkins is missing mandatory mini-camp due to his lingering left foot injury, according to reports.

Wilkins is rehabbing a serious injury, a Jones fracture on his foot, which is one of the most devastating injuries any athlete can suffer.

In yet another setback, Wilkins' return to the field has yet again been delayed.

Wilkins signed a four-year, $110 million deal during the 2024 offseason, leaving the Miami Dolphins for Sin City.

The defensive tackle only played five games last season, getting 17 tackles and two sacks, before suffering a season-ending injury.

Last month, The Athletic's Tashan Reed provided an update on Wilkins' recovery.

"His injured foot was placed in a walking boot, but he was out of it by the end of the season," Reed wrote in a story.

"Then, earlier this offseason, his foot was placed back in a boot. He was back out of the boot during OTA workouts recently, but the back-and-forth has raised questions about his recovery process."

Wilkins, when healthy, is an extremely impactful defender who excels at rushing the passer and stopping the run.

Wilkins' presence would be a major boost for the Raiders' defense, especially supporting edge rusher Maxx Crosby.

After the Raiders' Organized Team Activities, head coach Pete Carroll spoke on how the recovery process has gone for Wilkins.

"It has been a difficult recovery. He has done everything he needs to do. He has been here every single day," Caroll told reporters.

"He is here early, working hard, but we are still working on it, and he is not ready to get back out, and you know, we are in the midst of a long, challenging process here.

"So, fortunately, there is a lot of time, and we are going to take care of every bit of it. We have really tried to be really diligent about the way we have worked it and the way we have monitored it and all of that.

"And he has really been on board the whole time. But it has been challenging."

The Raiders have not provided any clarity on an expected return for Wilkins, but as time goes on, his return continues to be pushed back until he can fully heal.
