Venita Aspen shared new details about her one time "best friend" on the Southern Charm After Show.
Bouncing in and out of the friend zone with one-time bestie Jarrett "JT" Thomas has kept Venita Aspen on an emotional roller coaster on Southern Charm Season 10. Now that she's gotten off the metaphorical ride, Venita revealed an unseen Season 10 moment cost her more than just a broken heart.
On the Southern Charm After Show, she recounted an Episode 14 phone call in which she asked JT to be her plus-one to Madison LeCroy and Ryan Albert’s summer soiree. Though JT referenced the heated cast dinner in the Bahamas that led him to exit the group trip early as a reason for not wanting to attend, Venita said there was actually more to the conversation.
"He goes, 'Ya know, I don’t think my girlfriend's gonna like that,'" Venita told Leva Bonaparte on the After Show. "And I literally [threw] my phone on my porch and slammed my door. Before that, I said, 'You're gonna make me look like a f--king home-wrecker.'"
Adding insult to injury, she'd just spent some serious cash on him at an upscale Charleston men's clothing store.
"Imagine having a girlfriend and then having your best friend spend $5,000 on you at Dumas," Venita added. "And you get it tailored, same day turnaround. They don't do that for anybody else."
Leva asked if JT paid her back, to which Venita simply answered, "That's my best friend," before putting her statement in the past tense: "That was my best friend."
When Leva noted that's why she married her best friend, Venita replied, "And I thought I was going to marry mine, but then, ya know, other things came into play."
Even her mom who "doesn’t like anyone" met and liked JT, making the situation all the more disappointing.
