Southern Charm's Craig Conover revealed how Austen Kroll supported him during his breakup from Paige DeSorbo.
Austen Kroll and Craig Conover made some serious strides in their friendship on Southern Charm Season 10, Episode 13.
The longtime besties, castmates, and business partners finally hashed out their issues during the last night of the group trip to the Bahamas, and Craig confessed that he had been pursuing a calmer lifestyle because he had addiction issues.
Fast-forward to the Southern Charm After Show, and Craig revealed that the two are continuing to work on their friendship today.
"We're definitely on the up and up instead of the down," he explained about how things have improved since the trip. "Like, we try to text, call — he texted me after the Paige [DeSorbo] thing."
Though Craig was happy to have Austen's support during his breakup from Paige, he felt like he couldn't fully confide in the Trop Hop founder as it was happening.
"The issue was I couldn't tell him about the Paige thing, which he was one of the only people I wanted to call, but I just don't trust him yet enough to do that," Craig said about the time before the breakup was announced. "But, I hope to one day build that trust back... I was like, 'Austen, I want to work on being best friends again and getting to that trust level...'"
He added, "We're working on our new normal. I think we're in a much better place, but it's different. We did used to have a relationship around partying, and now we're building [something else]."
Are Craig Conover and Austen Kroll still business partners?
As Austen and Craig's friendship suffered on Southern Charm Season 10, it made things more awkward in their business relationship. In addition to co-hosting a podcast together called Pillows and Beer, Austen and Craig are investors two restaurants/bars: Carriage House in New York City and By the Way in Charleston.
Craig shared an update on their working relationship on the February 6 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
"Working with friends is interesting," he said. "Work ethics are just different. I think Austen and I know we have something good."
About a week earlier, Austen opened up about why he wanted to go into business with Craig in the first place.
"Craig's got the Midas touch sometimes, doesn't he?" Austen said during his own appearance on WWHL. "I like going into business with friends and that was before this season had filmed and aired and so that was before all this happened."
