This may be a shock, but Love Island USA isn’t the only show airing right now. Outside of reality TV, people are also binge-watching The Bear. All of Season 4 was just released, and it includes quite a few new characters.
One of these Season 4 additions is Francine Fak. The rival of Natalie “Sugar” Berzatto, she is portrayed by Brie Larson. The Captain Marvel star fully embodies the character’s harsh personality, but there was another popular female actress in the running for the role. And her name is Stassi Schroeder from Vanderpump Villa.

The actress who plays Natalie, Abby Elliott, recently spilled some tea regarding the role of Francine. According to her, Stassi’s name came up as a potential candidate. Even the show’s creator Chris Storer was into the idea.
“We talked about Stassi [Schroeder] from Vanderpump Rules. And we were like, ‘I think she’s kind of like Stassi,” she told Elle.
The actress also shared an awkward moment during an encounter with the reality TV star.
“I think it was between seasons 2 and 3, I was at the L.A. Natural History Museum, and I saw Stassi. I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ I was so embarrassed because my kid was having a tantrum and her kid was so well-behaved, and [Storer] was like, ‘This is perfect. This is so Natalie and Francie.’”
Abby didn’t reveal exactly why Stassi’s casting ultimately fell through. Maybe Vanderpump Villa was filming its second season at the same time? Who knows.
Either way, Stassi got her television comeback this year and her fans are thrilled.
The Bear and Vanderpump Villa are available to stream on Hulu.
