For their first season in the National Hockey League, Utah will be keeping it simple and going with 'Hockey Club', before announcing a permanent team name and branding ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
Utah held a fan vote over the summer to determine what their team name should be, with a number of strong candidates, but it appears that they may have their minds made up already before they begin Year 1 in the NHL.
In an interview last week with NHL.com's Mike Zeisberger at the NHL Players Media Tour in Las Vegas, Utah HC forward Clayton Keller said that it sounds like the team will be going with the name 'Yeti' starting in 2025.

"It sounds like it's going to be the Yeti, but I don't know," Keller said. "We'll see what happens. Whatever they choose, I think it'll be a good one."
Yeti was one of the six finalists named in Utah's second round of fan voting back at the beginning of June. The other five team names were - HC (Hockey Club), Blizzard, Mammoth, Outlaws and Venom.
It's unclear when Utah will make their team name and logos/branding official, but it's safe to say that it may not be until the new year and potentially when the NHL holds one of its marquee events, such as the Entry Draft in June.
