Unpopular Opinion: Bold & Beautiful Needs to Bring [Spoiler] Back, Pronto — Hear Me Out!

In the least shocking development ever, Bold & Beautiful‘s Liam survived his “inoperable” tumor. Better still, the show clearly had no time to waste when it came to moving this story into its next phase, because over the course of, like, two days, Grace told Bill about the experimental treatment, Liam was operated on and — say what? — relocated to a bedroom at his dad’s mansion.

When this show is bored by a plot point, it puts the pedal to the medal in order to get where it really wants to go. Yet weirdly, this is the same show that will spend weeks talking a single plot point to death.

Is Luna Really Alive?

But I’m 100 percent convinced that there’s another story bubbling just beneath the surface. While we’re all looking at the shiny object that is Liam’s miracle cure, nobody is talking about Luna. Why? Because the writers want us to just forget all about her so that we will be “surprised” when it turns out that Li’s got her alive-if-mentally-unwell niece/grandchild stashed away somewhere.

I know most people would rather have a double root canal than see Luna return, but I’ll admit I’m not among them. Why? Because, simply put, when Luna’s around things happen. Sure, they’re non-sensical things like Bill getting her a pardon or history being completely rewritten. But that’s far more interesting to me than yet another round of “who’s more pathetic, Brooke or Taylor?”

Why We Need Luna Back. No, Seriously!

In the two or three weeks leading up to Liam’s shooting, Luna evaded Will’s honey trap, helped Hayes create the creepiest art project ever, held a teacher hostage, shot off another of Sheila’s toes and nearly killed an already-dying Liam. Heck, if it weren’t for Luna shooting Liam — which led to Hope’s loose lips revealing his other medical condition — Bill still wouldn’t know about the brain tumor!

More: The biggest Liam twist could yet be coming…

Yes, when Luna’s around, things happen. If and when she does return, I have one request: Please don’t have her tread the same path Sheila’s currently on. There’s absolutely no point in creating a villain like Sheila only to have her sit around playing kissy-face with her husband while they play an abridged version of “this little piggy” on her remaining toes.

Random Thoughts

Brooke Ridge B&B

• Anybody else get the sense that the show rushed Liam’s surgery — as opposed to milking it for all it was worth — because they need to get Ridge/Brooke/Nick to Italy, and it would have seemed crass for them to jet off while Hope’s ex was fighting for his life?

• Finn is obviously suspicious of Grace’s miracle cure. I suspect he’ll take a closer look at those before-and-after MRI’s and realize something funny’s going on.
