Bold & Beautiful’s Ashley Jones Mourns Her Late Co-Star: ‘I Was a Fan, But You Were a Friend’
Today, the devastating news of Malcolm Jamal Warner’s death has left many grieving. His fans, his former castmates… so many were stunned to learn of the Hollywood actor’s accidental drowning while swimming on vacation with his family in Costa Rica, as confirmed by People, and The Bold and the Beautiful’s Ashley Jones (Bridget) took to her official Instagram to honor her late friend and costar.
“Malcolm,” the CBS soap star stated then went on to recall, “It was only about an eight-day stretch I got to hang and work with you on set. I was a fan, but you were a friend.” Jones remembered how Warner was the “real deal” and how he talked about his “wife and daughter,” his “music” and his “poetry.” The two chatted about Jones’ son Hayden and the “hard life stuff” she had been going though. “It was an honor,” she continued then added, “and I pray your family is comforted. Your legacy will live on. Rest easy in God’s hands.”
Jones’ former Bold & Beautiful castmate and Beyond the Gates actress Karla Mosley (ex-Maya, Dani) added beneath the post, “So heartbroken. What a loss of light,” to which Jones replied, “So true.”
In regards to their time together… In May of 2022, Jones appeared as Diana on The Resident, the medical drama series with which Warner starred as AJ from 2018 to 2023. Though the actor had over 85 credits to his resume, fans will always remember Warner for playing Theo on The Crosby Show, as well as such series as Here and Now, Malcolm & Eddie and Reed Between the Lines, to name a small few.
