UFL Week 10 roundup: Former Alabama high school, Troy QB handles Battlehawks’ business

The St. Louis Battlehawks and DC Defenders closed their UFL regular-season schedules on Friday night with neither regular quarterback on the field.

With the teams poised to square off next week in the XFL Conference Championship Game, the Battlehawks kept Max Duggan out of harm’s way, and the Defenders did the same with Jordan Ta’amu.

That gave former Gulf Shores High School and Troy quarterback Brandon Silvers his first start since he was under center for the Houston Roughnecks in the XFL in the 2023 season as he helped the Battlehawks post a close-to-the-vest 13-2 victory.

In the other United Football League games during the final weekend of the regular season:

  • The Michigan Panthers will head into the playoffs off a loss. Michigan lost two fumbles and two interceptions, with one returned 32 yards for a touchdown by Houston linebacker Marvin Moody, as the Roughnecks ended their season with a 19-12 victory on Saturday. The Panthers kept quarterback Bryce Perkins on the sidelines for the second straight week.
  • Arlington quarterback Luis Perez threw for 283 yards and ran for one touchdown in the Renegades’ 23-6 victory over the San Antonio Brahmas on Sunday.
  • Birmingham linebacker Tae Crowder returned interceptions 51 and 75 yards for touchdowns to help the Stallions post the league’s highest point total of the 2025 season in a 46-9 victory over the Memphis Showboats on Sunday.

Silvers threw only eight passes, completing six for 105 yards, as St. Louis had 24 rushing attempts and relied on its defense to smother DC QB Mike DiLiello.

The Battlehawks (8-2) and Defenders (6-4) will square off again in the XFL Conference Championship Game at 5 p.m. CDT Sunday at the Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis. FOX will televise the game.

In the USFL Conference Championship Game, the Stallions (7-3) and Panthers (6-4) will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday at Protective Stadium in Birmingham. ABC will televise the game.

The winners of the conference-championship contests will play in the UFL Championship Game at 7 p.m. June 14 at the Dome at America’s Center.
