In a 12-year career, Travis Kelce has made 10 Pro Bowls and seven All-Pro teams, won three Super Bowls with the Kansas City Chiefs, and already established himself as a Hall of Famer. However, going into year 13, Kelce is facing the inevitable question that every aging veteran will eventually be asked: does he still have it? With many fans and analysts arguing that Kelce is on the decline, the veteran tight end is committed to having another elite season in 2025.
With the Chiefs set to report for mandatory minicamp on June 17, Kelce has shown off his commitment with one big lifestyle change. ESPN reporter Jeremy Fowler recently revealed that the veteran tight end has lost about 25 pounds this offseason. According to Fowler, this was an intentional effort by Kelce, as he wanted to be slimmer for what he hopes is a big season.

Travis Kelce loses about 25 pounds, delivering on a vow to be slimmer for 2025 season
Playing in 16 games last season, Kelce caught 97 passes for 823 yards and three touchdowns. Not including his rookie season, when he appeared in just one game, the 823 receiving yards and three touchdowns were both career lows. Additionally, it marked the second straight season where Kelce’s production dipped by more than 100 yards.
Kelce is 35 years old, and has been in the league for a long time, so it’s not entirely surprising, or a bad thing, that he’s starting to decline. Even at the level he played last season, he was still pretty productive, and helped the Chiefs reach the Super Bowl. However, everyone is used to seeing more from Kelce, including himself, and that’s likely why it was a goal for him to slim down this offseason.
With the end of his career near, the veteran tight end is determined to give his best to the Chiefs, hoping to secure one more Super Bowl win before he ultimately hangs up his cleats.
