The Bachelorette season 21 should've been all about Jenn Tran's journey to find love, but, due to producer manipulation, the show is completely focused on drama and nonsense, which could lead to a negative outcome for the leading lady. Jenn, a 26-year-old physician assistant student originally from Hillsdale, New Jersey, but now living in Boston, Massachusetts, got her start on Joey Graziadei's Bachelor season. She made it to his Top 6 women, but he eliminated her right before his hometown dates.
Now Jenn is ready to continue her journey to find love on The Bachelorette season 21. Jenn is making history as the first-ever Asian American Bachelor franchise lead, but the focus has already shifted from her journey to the conflict between Devin Strader and the other men on the show. Devin's big personality has rubbed some of his fellow contestants the wrong way, especially Aaron Erb, but it's clear that the producers had a hand in creating the drama that dominated episode 2's airtime. This doesn't bode well for Jenn, who simply wants to find love.
The Producers Might've Orchestrated Devin & Jenn's Group Date Alone Time
Devin Couldn't Have Planned His Gelato Break Himself
During Jenn's first Bachelorette season 21 group date, Devin stole her away to have some gelato alone together. This infuriated Aaron, who felt that the guys should be doing group activities on a group date. However, considering that his own twin brother, Noah Erb, appeared on both The Bachelorette season 16 and Bachelor in Paradise season 7, during which he met his fiancée, Abigail Heringer, Aaron should've known how the show works. Devin was simply doing whatever it took to capture Jenn's attention.
However, the drama between Devin and Aaron seems very manufactured, considering the fact that Jenn and the men were in Melbourne, Australia, and Devin suddenly had enough knowledge of the area to plan a special gelato date. The producers must've had a hand in him planning the alone time, especially since Devin and Jenn were helping themselves to the shop's gelato, with no workers in sight. While it was sweet that Devin wanted to steal Jenn away, the way it was done was probably aided by the producers, who jumped at the chance to create a conflict.

Devin Interrupted Aaron's One-On-One Time With Jenn
The drama continued later in the date when Jenn and the men had a cocktail party. While Aaron was having his one-on-one talk with Jenn, Devin somehow got a cart and wheeled it into the room to offer Jenn a vanilla ice cream sundae. Production even edited ice cream truck music into the scene, making it all seem even more manufactured.
Devin then stole Jenn away from Aaron, but Aaron later returned to do the same to Devin. Ridiculously, Devin then came back again to steal Jenn from Aaron. This back-and-forth was the stuff of nightmares for viewers, but the producers seemed to think that it was reality TV gold because so much time was spent on it. Devin obviously had help from the producers in order to get both the ice cream and the cart, which makes the whole situation seem fake and forced.
Aaron's Book Was An Obvious Case Of Producer Manipulation
Aaron's Brother Also Received A Book On The Show
To make matters worse, Aaron later confronted Devin again because he said in his confessional that he couldn't stop thinking about him. During this exchange, he mistakenly called him "Dylan" for the second time, which frustrated Devin, who said that he was questioning his character, but didn't even know his name. Aaron then called Devin a bully and gave him a book called Principles for Self-Growth: How to Understand Yourself and Gain Emotional Depth by Dr. Brandon O. Conner, which he said that he hoped he would read and use to improve himself.
This scene was exactly the same as the one between Aaron's brother Noah and Bennett Jordan from The Bachelorette season 16. Bennett thought that Noah was too immature at age 25 for Tayshia Adams, and that he lacked emotional depth. Bennett gave Noah a book called On Emotional Intelligence, saying that he hoped that he'd read it in order to better himself. Strangely, Aaron never mentioned Noah and the book on the show.
Not only was this too much of a coincidence, but an Internet search proves that Aaron's book and its author don't appear to exist outside of the show. In addition, the book has a misprint on the spine, saying, "Priciples for Self-Growth." While there's no actual proof that the producers created the book for Aaron to give to Devin and hearken back to Noah and Bennett's conflict, the whole situation is very suspicious.

The Producers Are Notorious For Adding Controversial Contestants
Like The Bachelor season 28 contestant Sydney Gordon's bullying of Maria Georgas, Aaron's reactions to Devin seemed too over-the-top to be real. He was much more concerned with what Devin was doing than Jenn. Aaron also seemed more interested in one-upping Devin than pursuing a real relationship with Jenn.
In addition, like Sydney, who's friends with Bachelor Nation fan favorite Ashley Iaconetti in real life, Aaron has a connection to an alum of the show. It's possible that Aaron was planted by the producers to create a drama, and that he had no real intention of having a relationship with Jenn. It wouldn't be the first time that the producers purposely cast a villain.
The Bachelorette season 21 already has so much producer interference. It's a shame that the producers always seem to care more about creating drama than telling love stories. Devin and Aaron dominated Jenn's airtime, which was very frustrating to watch. Hopefully, the producers will back off and stop manipulating everyone before they destroy Jenn's chance of finding her one true love and getting engaged.
