Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill recently gave his top-five list for quarterbacks in the league. Tua Tagovailoa was not one of the quarterbacks the star receiver named.
Hill might have to wait until training camp to deal with the fallout of his rankings. The six-time All-Pro recently had another medical procedure done on his wrist. He sustained the wrist injury during training camp last year but chose to play through the pain in 2024.
Per ESPN’s Marcel Louis-Jacques, Hill had an operation to remove screws from his wristas was previously planned.
“Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill underwent an operation on his wrist, according to a post to his Snapchat account, marking his second procedure this offseason,” Louis-Jacques wrote.
“Hill had his wrist surgically repaired earlier this offseason after playing through what Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel described as a ligament issue. Hill’s most recent surgery involved the removal of previously placed screws, a source told ESPN, and has been ‘the plan all along.'”
Due to the recovery time for the surgery, Hill is not expected to return to practice for the Dolphins until training camp, meaning he won’t be catching balls from Tua, backup quarterback Zach Wilson, or rookie Quinn Ewers in OTAs.
Hill’s production in 2024 suffered due to his injury and Tua missing time because of a concussion. He finished with 81 receptions for 959 yards and six touchdowns. It was Hill’s first season without 1,000 yards receiving since 2019.
