As we witnessed Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles at Paycor stadium and repetitively during the season outside of Trey Hendrickson, the Cincinnati Bengals pass rush is nonexistent. With the Bengals being blown out by the Philadelphia Eagles 37-17, it is abundantly clear the defensive line is in trouble. They are struggling with stopping the run allowing 136.1 rush yards per game, and passing yards allowed 217 on average making every quarterback who faces the much-maligned Cincinnati Bengals defense into the second coming of Joe Montana! The Cincinnati Bengals are in the bottom of the league at both stopping the run and pass rush. Something must give before the trade deadline.
Tee Higgins sat out Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles with quad tightness. Tee Higgins has now missed three games this regular season due to hamstring or quad tightness. Some may believe this is a business decision for Tee Higgins to sit out due to the Cincinnati Bengals reluctance to give Tee Higgins a long-term extension playing on the franchise tag. Tee Higgins shares the same agent David Mulugheta as Jesse Bates III did, a former Cincinnati Bengal that had been franchise tagged before leaving in free agency to the Atlanta Falcons. The Cincinnati Bengals have never been able to reach an agreement with a player David Mulugheta has represented. Which makes for drama before the NFL trade deadline, November 5.
Here is my trade proposal with the Las Vegas Raiders. Tee Higgins for Maxx Crosby makes a ton of sense for the Cincinnati Bengals to bolster their pass rush. Crosby alone has 6.5 sacks, while the Cincinnati Bengals in eight games only have 12 sacks. The Las Vegas Raiders traded disgruntled wide receiver Davante Adams to the New York Jets for a reunion with Aaron Rodgers which creates a void for a true number one receiver for the Las Vegas Raiders. Insert Tee Higgins. Owner Mark Davis could give Higgins the extension he is looking for in a long-term deal. The Cincinnati Bengals could pair Crosby with Trey Hendrickson to form a potent one/two combo to generate a consistent pass rush for a pass rush needy Lou Anarumo defense. That would help the Bengals get back in the AFC North Division and Playoff races, respectively.
