The Golden Bachelorette’s Joan Vassos Slams Bachelor Nation Star Over Bullying Accusations Amid Signs She & Chock Chapple Are Using Fame To Their Advantage

The Golden Bachelorette leading lady Joan Vassos criticized franchise star Gabby Windey after she mocked former Bachelor Clayton Echard on a podcast. During The Bachelor season 26, Clayton and Gabby had a bad breakup after he admitted that he'd been intimate with her and Rachel Recchia, and told them and Susie Evans that he loved them. Since then, Clayton has been learning how to dance, and posting videos on Instagram showing his progress. As for Joan, she got engaged to Chock Chapple at the end of The Golden Bachelorette season 1, and they're still very happy together.

The Golden Bachelorette's Joan Vassos Slams Bachelor Nation Star Over Bullying Accusations Amid Signs She & Chock Chapple Are Using Fame To Their Advantage

Joan Vassos slammed Bachelor Nation star Gabby Windey after Gabby mocked former Bachelor Clayton Echard on the Las Culturistas podcast.

In an Instagram post, Clayton shared a clip of Gabby bashing him on the Las Culturistas podcast. She said that his dancing videos would "make you run...and wish you didn't have eyes." She also called him a "toe-looking [expletive]" and mentioned his skinny jeans.

Clayton responded to the video, writing in the caption, "Bullying people for their physical looks and their passions is completely unnecessary and behavior like this needs to be called out, so that hopefully it isn’t continued." He added, "You have a massive platform and influence, Gabby. So, I hope you can reflect upon this moment and be better going forward." Clayton also included a video response to Gabby's insults.

In the comments section of the post, Joan defended Clayton, slamming Gabby's behavior. She wrote, "It’s shocking that anyone feels it’s ok to bully but especially adults who know better. I’m sure Gabby thought she was being entertaining and funny but it’s not when it’s at the expense of someone else’s feelings."

Joan added that, as TV stars, they all have a responsibility to set an example for the young people of today. She said, "What kind of example are we showing the youth of today when someone they look up to and admire because they had the privilege to be on tv acts like this. They are learning from us and we need to be better. Thank you Clayton for speaking out and keep on dancing my friend!"

What Joan Vassos Calling Out Gabby Means

Joan Is Taking A Stand

The fact that Joan felt compelled to call out Gabby for bullying Clayton means that she's willing to stand up for her friends. Joan was a private school administrator, so she has firsthand experience working with young people. She knows that bullying is a major problem, and it's refreshing to see that she realizes that kids are learning from adults and, therefore, should model good behavior.

Since The Golden Bachelorette ended, Joan and her fiancé, Chock, have been using their fame to their advantage by endorsing products, traveling, and attending special events. However, speaking out against bullying is another positive way that Joan can use her newfound fame. It's admirable that she spoke up for Clayton, and she might inspire others to do the same for someone who's being bullied.

Our Take On Joan Vassos Speaking Out Against Gabby

Joan Is Doing The Right Thing

I think it's wonderful that Joan defended Clayton and spoke out against Gabby. While Clayton did hurt Gabby during The Bachelor season 26, it was three years ago now. Gabby has since gone on to co-star in The Bachelorette season 19 with Rachel, place second during Dancing With The Stars season 31, win The Traitors season 3, and marry comedian and TV writer Robby Hoffman. She might think that she's being funny, but there's no reason for her to continue to bash Clayton all these years later, especially when she's happily married. Joan's right that Gabby should know better.

Although some people might think that Gabby is just being funny, I feel that Joan's right that it's not okay to make jokes at someone else's expense. Gabby is known for her very dry sense of humor, but I think that she took things too far by making fun of Clayton's looks and dancing. He's not hurting anyone by posting his videos, and she should leave him alone. I applaud The Golden Bachelorette star for speaking out against bullying and for understanding that TV stars should use their platforms to spread positivity and set a good example.
