The Golden Bachelorette couple Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple got engaged at the end of her season, and now they're talking about their wedding plans, despite the fact that Golden Bachelor couple Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist announced their divorce after just three months of marriage. Chock proposed to Joan after a Golden Bachelorette season in which he was the clear front runner. From their magical one-on-one date in Disneyland to their beautiful final date during which Chock told Joan that he loved her, it was clear that they were meant-to-be.

In an interview with GMA, Joan and Chock shared that they're going to live their lives in the real world for a bit, and then begin wedding planning. Joan shared, "I finally, like, look forward to the next chapter of my life. I lost that, you know, for quite a while." Joan was referring to the fact that her husband of 32 years, John, passed away in 2021 due to pancreatic cancer.

Joan then went on to say, "I think just living a little bit of a normal life for a bit of time and then we'll start making wedding plans." Chock then added, "She's going to marry me … it's just a matter of time." Joan agreed, "I am."

It's surprising to hear that Joan is already talking about making wedding plans with Chock because, before her Golden Bachelorette season began, she said that she didn't want to jump into marriage, and she wasn't even set on getting engaged at the end of the show. She felt that she wanted to get to know her final choice in the real world before getting married so quickly like Gerry and Theresa did. Theresa herself has even said that she and Gerry didn't know each other well enough when they got married.

However, when Joan made her comments about not having a rushed wedding, she was still talking in hypotheticals. Now that she's actually engaged to Chock, it's possible that she loves him so much that she's changed her mind about getting married quickly. Still, it's hard to imagine that there will be another Golden Wedding considering what Joan has said in the past, but anything is possible in the crazy world of Bachelor Nation.

During Joan's "After the Final Rose" episode, Chock revealed that they'd been able to spend five Happy Couple's Weekends together getting to know each other, but that's still not enough considering how quickly they got engaged. If Joan and Chock want to avoid making the same mistake as Gerry and Theresa, then they should definitely not get married any time soon.

It was wonderful to see both Joan and Chock find love again after they each suffered so much heartache (Chock's fiancée, Kathy, passed away in 2022 due to brain cancer). They were the perfect couple during The Golden Bachelorette. Chock even returned to Joan after leaving for a bit due to the passing of his mother. If Joan and Chock slow down and make a good decision about when to get married, then they don't have to become the next Gerry and Theresa. Instead, they'll live happily ever after.
