Fans got to know Natalie as she looked for love with Grant Ellis on Season 29 of “The Bachelor.”
During her time on the show, Natalie shared that she works with kids and is currently working toward getting her doctorate degree.
Now, she has taken to social media to share more about her work and her experiences at grad school.
In a new video online, she said, “I’ve had a lot of people reach out and ask if I could talk a little bit more about my grad school and the work that I do and just kind of like my path getting here. So I thought I would do that.”

Natalie then shared which doctoral degree she’s working toward and how long she anticipates being in grad school.
She said, “I’m not getting my Ph.D. I’m getting my Psy.D., and the main difference is that Psy.D.s have a heavier focus on the clinical aspect of being a psychologist rather than the research or teaching of psychology. I am currently in classes. I’m taking an extra year now after the show because I did take a semester off and my program is very wonderful in letting me have that leave of absence to go on the show… However, I’m in classes now and seeing patients again, and I see patients probably 20 to 25 hours a week.”
Natalie continued, sharing more about her work with kids and what her job entails.
“I like to work with, like I said on the show, children in the hospital. Specifically children with cancer,” she stated. “But I can also see children that are there for other medical conditions… I primarily am there to provide support because being in the hospital can be a very, very scary thing for these kids, especially if it’s for a longer term condition. But I can also support the families, siblings, parents, everyone involved in this child’s system.”

Natalie then explained more about the specifics of her job and how much she loves it.
“I can help with anxiety, behavior change, sleep, pain, fatigue, nausea, appetite, pill swallowing, procedural distress. Pretty much like everything under the sun, which is really nice to be able to ease the patient and the family’s burden a little bit… I love what I do; it’s a blast! I would recommend it to everyone who wants to go to school for another several years,” she expressed.
We are so proud of Natalie and all the amazing work she’s doing. We’re cheering her on and can’t wait to see her receive her Psy.D.!
