The Bachelorette season 21 ended with Jenn Tran and Devin Strader proposing to each other, but the "After the Final Rose" special revealed that Devin had broken off the engagement, and now Reality Steve is exposing some huge bombshells about Devin's alleged dangerous behavior towards an ex-girlfriend. Throughout The Bachelorette season 21, Devin was a polarizing figure. He didn't get along with a lot of the other men, including Sam McKinney, Thomas Nguyen, and Aaron Erb, but he won Jenn's heart by being open and honest about his feelings.
However, after The Bachelorette season 21 finale, Devin became one of the biggest villains in the show's two-decade history. In an attempt to defend himself on social media after the finale, Devin released private text messages between him and Jenn. He received massive backlash for this, and he eventually removed the post. Now, Reality Steve is accusing Devin of far worse behavior towards one of his ex-girlfriends.
Reality Steve AllegesThat Devin Strader Burglarized His Ex-Girlfriend's Home
She Had A Restraining Order Against Him
On September 16, 2024, Reality Steve participated in a YouTube Live, in which he alleged that one of Devin's ex-girlfriends had a restraining order against him when he was a student at Louisiana State University (LSU) seven years ago in 2017. On May 4, twelve days before Jenn's final rose ceremony in Hawaii, Reality Steve received an Instagram DM that alleged that Devin had a restraining order against him from an ex-girlfriend. However, it wasn't until September that Reality Steve found the documents to prove that the information in the DM was true.
Reality Steve shared the documents during the YouTube Live, including an affidavit for Devin's arrest warrant, which Reality Steve pointed out was a matter of public record and not sealed. It was from a police officer with the Baton Rouge police department from April of 2017. The document stated that on March 19, 2017, the officers responded to an address in reference to a burglary where the victim advised the officers that she had been out of town, and came home to find her room burglarized.
The victim and Devin had just broken up, and he lived just two doors down from her. She also stated that Devin never had a key or unaccompanied access to her apartment while they were dating. The police officer who responded to the call had informed the police officer who wrote the report that the victim's room was the only room in the residence that appeared to have been rifled through.
The officer also stated that there was a jewelry box that had been gone through, a broken bottle of perfume, and a makeup tray that was dumped out. A diamond necklace that Devin had bought for the victim when they were dating was the only thing that had been stolen. All of the clothing in her closets appeared to have been gone through during the robbery. Devin had entered the apartment through a side door that didn't lock very well. The victim sometimes used a putty knife to get into the apartment when she didn't have her keys. She had told Devin about this.
The officer recommended that Devin be charged with burglary of an inhabited dwelling.
Because the victim broke up with Devin, he didn't have permission to be at the house. She stated that Devin had come to her house, banging on the door several times and screaming at her. This had happened several days before the burglary. She had been staying at her mother's house for several days since he'd banged on the door. She'd also filed a restraining order against Devin. The officer recommended that Devin be charged with burglary of an inhabited dwelling.

Reality Steve Says That Devin Lit The Restraining Order On Fire
The officer had spoken with the victim on April 5, 2017, and she stated that, when Devin was served with the restraining order, later that evening, he made a fire out in the street with what appeared to be the restraining order. A tire on her car was also flattened, and she said that while she was having it changed, Devin came outside and began laughing at her.

Reality Steve also has a document in which Devin's ex-girlfriend accused him of violating the temporary restraining order. She stated that she was holding Devin in contempt for violating the restraining order numerous times. She wrote that he asked to talk to her in a bar, to which she said that she drunkenly agreed, but it was a huge mistake. She added that, a few days later, he called her twice, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. He also put a letter in her mailbox, confessing his love, and saying that she was the best thing to happen to him, and that he was sorry.
Devin's ex-girlfriend added that, two days after that, on April 25, 2017, she received a knock on her door at 4:30 a.m. because Devin was arrested for DWI. Reality Steve had the document from the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Department proving this to be true. Devin had told the police officer that she was his girlfriend and he wanted to talk to her so that she could bail him out of jail.
Please. This has to stop. I can't live my life with him continuing to contact me, even with a restraining order.
She told the police officer that she had a restraining order against him, and the officer apologized for waking her up. She then stated that she received four phone calls from Devin after the officer left with him. Later that day, he knocked on her door, and called her four times while ringing the doorbell.
On May 1, 2017, Devin sent her a message, telling her how much he loved her and wanted to talk to her. He swore that it would be the last time. Devin also called her again after sending the messages. She wrote, "Please. This has to stop. I can't live my life with him continuing to contact me, even with a restraining order."

Reality Steve Contacted Devin's Ex-Girlfriend But She Didn't Respond
Reality Steve stated that once he received the affidavit for Devin's arrest warrant, he contacted the ex-girlfriend. He knows her name and her Instagram account. He sent her two messages, which she's read, but has not responded to. Reality Steve said that her friend, who came forward in May about Devin, thinks that she probably won't want to come forward.
Reality Steve added that he knows why Devin's ex-girlfriend got the restraining order against Devin because people associated with her told him the reason, but, because she hasn't responded to him, he won't disclose it. Reality Steve said that all he'll say is that she filed a restraining order against him for something more serious than cyber harassment.

Reality Steve Is Livid That The Bachelorette Producers Didn't Know About Devin's Past
He Doesn't Understand How Devin Was Cast
Reality Steve said that, from everything that he knows, the restraining order has been sealed, so he couldn't get it. He stated that he knew that people were going to be upset that The Bachelorette producers didn't know about it, but he acknowledged that they might not have known. However, the other documents were readily available. Reality Steve said that the show probably should've known about it because, if he could get the documents, they could've too. He said that the show "clearly needs to do a better job."
Reality Steve stated that it bothered him that The Bachelorette producers cast someone on the show who had a restraining order against him. He speculated that they'd say that they didn't know, and that they'd never knowingly cast someone who'd had a restraining order against him.. However, Reality Steve added that they should have known. He said, "If I'm able to get the documents, why can't they? These are public documents." Reality Steve guessed that Jenn does know about this, and she probably found out recently, but not during filming.
If I'm able to get the documents, why can't they? These are public documents.
Reality Steve's bombshells about Devin have added fuel to the fire of him being one of the biggest villains in Bachelorette history. These accusations have been backed up with documents from Reality Steve, so it'll be interesting to see if Devin speaks out about it. He seems to be intent on restoring his reputation, so perhaps he will. This situation is extremely unfortunate, and The Bachelorette has to do better with casting in the future.
