The Bachelor Season 29 Star Grant Ellis Reveals If He Actually Wants To Get Married After Joey & Kelsey's Relationship Backlash

After breakup rumors swirled around Joey Graziadei and Kelsey Anderson, The Bachelor's newest lead star Grant Ellis finally announced whether he plans to get married or not. Grant made his reality TV debut via The Bachelorette season 21. Unfortunately, lead Jenn Tran sent him home in week 6, and she went on to choose Devin Strader during the finale, though their relationship quickly fell apart. Grant's opportunity as The Bachelor season 29 lead comes at a pivotal time for the franchise, after Jenn's breakup, Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist's divorce, and breakup rumors surrounding Joey and Kelsey.

The Bachelor: Joey Graziadei & Kelsey Anderson's Behind-The-Scenes Video Reveals If They're Still In Love After Relationship Backlash

Grant Ellis opened up about his ultimate goal on The Bachelor after several recent franchise breakups.

According to a brand-new promo for The Bachelor season 29, Grant opened up about his ultimate goal on the show as he gets a second chance at finding love on TV. "I'm looking for love. I want a wife. I'm searching for the happiness," he admitted in the promo. After introducing himself to fans as a "mama's boy," an athlete and a day trader, Grant talked about his upcoming journey on The Bachelor, which will be his second chance at finding love on TV.

Grant realizes he's taking a big risk, but as the saying goes, with big risks come big rewards. "To get what you want out of life, you have to take a chance," he explained, before adding that it's a "choice" to love, that "love is hard," but it can come with the "biggest reward." This Bachelor promo didn't include any footage from the new season, though; Grant's comments were delivered as he sat on a stool and talked directly to the camera. He ended the promo by tossing a red rose at the camera.

What Grant Ellis’ Desire To Get Married Means After Joey & Kelsey Rumors

Recent Bachelor Breakups & Rumors Haven't Scared Grant Away From Marriage

Joey and Kelsey have had one of the most stable Bachelor relationships in recent years. However, their critics constantly point to supposed signs their engagement is on the verge of ending. That has caused rumors to flare up about the state of Joey and Kelsey's relationship, which they have addressed a few times to try to put an end to all the speculation. Gerry and Theresa's marriage ended almost as quickly as it began. Also, Grant's own Bachelorette ex, Jen, dealt with her own very messy breakup with Devin, leading to discussions about who she should have chosen instead.

All of this drama could have made Grant more cautious coming into his own season of The Bachelor. However, in his new promo, he appeared more determined than ever to find his happily ever after and get married someday. Before she filmed The Golden Bachelorette season 1, Joan Vassos seemed a little unsure about whether she wanted to get engaged at the end of her spin-off season, but she gained more confidence by the end and is now engaged to Chock Chapple. Grant's tactic, by comparison, is to display confidence up front and hope for the best.

ABC obviously doesn't want Grant to show any sort of trepidation in their official promos, so it's not surprising that Grant is so adamant that he's going to find his future wife on The Bachelor. However, I hope he's not setting himself up for failure by being this bold right from the start. The Bachelor shows don't really have the best track record of successful relationships. This past year really proved that to be true.

Despite that bold confidence, Grant's positivity and hopeful declaration is also admirable. Hopefully, his Bachelor journey is a success and he does fall in love with one of the female contestants. After being rejected on The Bachelorette, he deserves every bit of happiness he desires.
