It began when he sunk a crucial birdie on Saturday and then went on to imitate Curry’s signature ‘night-night’ celebration. A popular gesture the four-time NBA winner uses after clutch moments in games. However, Steph Curry being an avid golf fan himself, quickly took notice and shared the moment on his social media.

I appreciate the energy and the love. Gotta know time and score tho!!!

Fans also noticed that he humorously remarked on the timing of the celebration, when he jokingly advised Kim to check the score and time it better, especially when going up against American golfers. And in the end, team USA won, furthering their defense as the best in the sport.

Furthermore, Kim spoke about the moment when he explained that Curry is his favorite NBA player. However, it’s not his first rodeo at an NBA-inspired celebration, as he had previously imitated Kobe Bryant’s ‘silence’ celebration during the 2022 PGA Tour at Quail Hollow while playing against Team USA.

Lionel Messi also imitated the famous ‘Night-Night’ celebration

The night-night celebration became more popular after the Olympic finals. And it was not only the South Koreans who mimicked the celebration. Before Si Woo Kim imitated Steph Curry’s ‘night-night’ celebration, global soccer icon Lionel Messi had already paid tribute to the Warriors star in a similar way.

It happened earlier in the month, during a match between Inter Miami and Philadelphia Union, the soccer GOAT celebrated the crucial goal by mimicking Curry’s signature gesture, adding to its global recognition. Now it’s left to see how many athletes out there might want to jump on the trend.

The celebration has been a mainstay in the league but made its way to the world stage during the summer Olympics. And it was a lovely scene when he ‘assassinated’ the host nation’s team and then sent the spectators, including his teammates wild.
