Wide receiver Stefon Diggs is coming off an interesting year with the Houston Texans. In that year, he was limited to just eight games because of a torn ACL but still accumulated 47 receptions, 496 yards, and three touchdowns.
However, signs are pointing toward it to be his first and only year with the team, as he's yet to sign an extension and is set to hit the open market and free to sign with a team on March 12.
Ian Valentino of the 33rd Team predicts that Diggs will find a new home for the 2025 season, landing with the Detroit Lions and pairing up with quarterback Jared Goff, who will be entering the first year of a four-year $212 million extension.
It would be an interesting move for the Lions because they already have wide receivers Amon-Ra St., who's under contract until the end of 2028 Brown and Jameson Williams, who's under contract until after 2026.
Diggs also wouldn't immediately become Goff's top target, as that's a role St. Brown has already had since 2020, and he may not even be above Williams after he accumulated 58 receptions, 1,001 yards and seven touchdowns in 2024.
Considering Spotrac currently values Diggs' market value at $13.5 million annually, that's a good chunk of money for someone who could possibly fill a role as wide receiver three.
