The Las Vegas Raiders are set to battle the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road. With the team losing eight in a row, the Raiders will attempt to upset the Buccaneers and hurt their playoff chances.
Throughout the season, the Raiders have dealt with injuries. These have prevented the defense from reaching its potential while allowing opportunities for young players on the offense. On Thursday’s injury report, Jakobi Meyers did not practice after being healthy Wednesday. He is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game, meaning the Raiders could be without one of their top threats.
A sign they could be without the former North Carolina St. wide receiver is an addition to the gameday roster. Kristian Wilkerson was activated from the practice squad Saturday to suit the team vs. the Buccaneers.
Wilkerson played earlier in the season when Meyers was not in the lineup vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has two touchdowns on the season but hasn’t added much production, with four receptions and 42 yards. He will need to step up if Meyers can’t play on Sunday.
In the NFL, it is next man up, given the nature of the sport. Wilkerson might get his shot to demonstrate that he can have an impact on the football field.
