Seth Curry has had multiple battles with his brother, Steph Curry, in the NBA over the years, and it never gets old. On3 recently spoke to Seth Curry about playing against his brother and said it’s fun despite it being a little ‘weird.’
“We’ve been doing it for so long now, we know how to go about it,” Curry told On3. “But it was weird at first. Obviously, throughout the whole season, I want the Warriors to play well. I want the Warriors to win, I want him to play well. And then you go out there and match up with them. It’s the complete opposite. I’m guarding him, he’s guarding me, we’re trying to beat them. So it’s weird, but I mean it’s a great experience for us and even more so for our families. It’s even cooler with my dad up in the booth calling the games for the Hornets. So all three of us to be in action on one night is pretty special.”
Seth and Steph Curry played against each other twice during the 2024-25 regular season. Seth played for the Charlotte Hornets, and when he faced Steph and the Golden State Warriors on Feb. 25, he scored 14 points in 17 minutes. In the second matchup, which was on Mar. 3, Seth played just eight minutes and scored zero points. Steph, a four-time NBA Champion and two-time NBA MVP, scored 15 points in the Feb. 25 game and 21 points in the Mar. 3 contest.
While Seth Curry has not had the same career as Steph Curry, he just wrapped up his 11th season in the league. He played in 68 games with 14 starts for the Hornets this past season and led the NBA in three-point field goal percentage (.456). Seth Curry signed a one-year contract with the Hornets, meaning he will be a free agent once the season ends. Will Seth re-sign with Charlotte or move on to a new NBA team?“You never know with the free agencies, I mean the different direction rosters go and trades and things like that,” Curry stated. “But I’m enjoying my time here. I feel I have a bigger purpose, like I said, leading these guys and be playing for my hometown team and representing the city. But I would love to come back, obviously with an improved roster and a better team, more health, and just have a chance to win. But I would love to come back and play another year for the Hornets.”
