Sean Payton actually does the Saints a favor in Week 11 as his Broncos continue rolling

The New Orleans Saints fired Dennis Allen a couple of weeks ago. Accordingly, one of Sean Payton's former assistants took over for Allen in Darren Rizzi.

Now, both Rizzi and Payton are helping the Saints try to revive their season and playoff hopes in 2024. New Orleans is 2-0 under Rizzi so far. Their new coach became the second HC in team history to start 2-0, joining Payton with that honor.

Broncos dominate Falcons

Payton is now the head coach with the Denver Broncos, and his offense is starting to get in a groove with rookie QB Bo Nix.

Denver's offense was basically unstoppable in Week 11 versus the Atlanta Falcons, and the Falcons were smothered by a top defense in the AFC from the Broncos. The Broncos won, 38-6, in a game where ATL never woke up.

NFC South battle

The Falcons sit atop the NFC South at 6-5. They have lost two games in a row after the latest defeat, at the hands of Sean Payton. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 4-6, sitting in second place. The Saints are just behind them at 4-7.

Correct - New Orleans remains a potential playoff team even after a seven-game losing streak earlier in the season. With Payton's latest win over the Falcons, the Saints garner a bit more ground to try to jump back into first place.

Payton beat every NFC South team this season after moving to the AFC

The former Saints head coach is 22-9 against the Falcons. During his time in New Orleans, he simply dominated the division. Payton is also 21-11 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and 19-13 versus the Carolina Panthers.
