Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici will forever be considered Bachelor Nation royalty, even if they feel like they are “aging out” of the franchise.
“Two years ago, I’m walking my child to school. Someone stops me and is like, ‘Oh, the new season of The Bachelor is popping up.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, Bachelor in Paradise?’ She was like, ‘Oh, I thought of you.’ And she goes, ‘No Golden Bachelor,’” Giudici, 39, recalled during an exclusive interview with Us Weekly while promoting Atkins.
Giudici continued, “Like, oh my gosh, that is now the bracket we’re in. We are in more [of a] Golden Bachelor [bracket] than we are in Paradise. And that rocked my world when I thought of it.”
The couple met when Lowe, now 41, starred as The Bachelor season 17 lead in 2013 and ultimately ended the show engaged. Lowe and Giudici tied the knot in 2014 before welcoming sons Samuel and Isaiah and daughter Mia in 2016, 2018 and 2019, respectively.
Despite feeling on the older end, Giudici and Lowe are still tuning in to watch season 10 of Bachelor in Paradise — and are big fans of franchise alum Hannah Brown having a role in the spinoff. (Brown has referred to herself as “Paradise Relations” on the show.)
“I love that Hannah Brown is part of it,” Giudici said. “I think they’re always good at casting just The Bachelor franchise. They do a really good job of that. Paradise is always such a guilty pleasure to watch. I’m excited.”
While she enjoys watching the Bachelor Nation singles mingle on the beaches of Costa Rica, Giudici doesn’t think that would have been a part of her love story if she hadn’t ended up with Lowe.
“I would have not gone to Paradise. I think I only went on The Bachelor because of him specifically and his values and what he represented,” she said. “[The Bachelor] was perfect for us.”
Giudici also noted that she would not have “survived” on the dating series Love Island. “I’m very sensitive and my feelings would have been hurt really quickly. He would have been a hot commodity there, though, obviously, for the obvious reasons,” Giudici said as Lowe added, “I leave the reality TV to her. These days, I think I’ve aged out of it. I’m just an old man that I’d rather watch The Great British Bake Off.”
When they’re not catching up on their favorite shows, Lowe and Giudici can be found partnering with Atkins to share how they’re adhering to their wellness goals and keeping one another in line.
