Seahawks trade idea sends two major pieces to Dolphins for Tyreek Hill

In the offseason, the Seattle Seahawks decided to offload DK Metcalf, but in doing so, they left a hole in the No. 1 receiving spot. However, could Seattle make a bold trade to find a new top target for quarterback Sam Darnold?

Bleacher Report's Brent Sobleski broke down potential destinations for Hill and the kind of trade packages the Dolphins might receive in return. Regarding the Seahawks, they are predicted to part ways with two assets that could be enough to land Hill.

"The Seahawks can improve their big-play ability with Hill in the fold. Offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak also came from the Shanahan tree, just a different branch than McDaniel's," Sobleski wrote. "Still, he can see how the Dolphins have deployed Hill and incorporate those wrinkles into Seattle's offense. Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Kupp are both outstanding, high-volume targets.

"Hill is a superior outside receiver, who provides a much-needed extra threat considering Kupp has missed at least five games in each of the last three seasons. If the Seahawks want the version of Darnold that showed up last season for the Minnesota Vikings, he needs premium weapons in the lineup."

In Minnesota, Darnold had several targets to get the football, whether it was Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, or T.J. Hockenson. If Seattle want the Darnold that was playing with the Vikings, they need to have multiple reliable targets that he can trust getting the ball to, and Hill would be an ideal weapon to have.

As for the Dolphins, they'll be adding to their draft capital for next year and adding to their secondary, which already saw the arrival of Minkah Fitzpatrick, so adding the 26-year-old Bryant would make the position more formidable. Last season, Bryant recorded three interceptions, one pick-six, six passes defended, and one forced fumble.

"The Dolphins, on the other hand, feature the league's worst secondary, at least on paper," Sobleski added. "Even with the Minkah Fitzpatrick acquisition, they still moved on from Jalen Ramsey, Jevon Holland, Kendall Fuller, Jordan Poyer and Marcus Maye.

"Coby Bryant is 26 years old and entering the last year of his rookie deal, though a contract extension can be discussed. He should be a welcome addition because of his versatility to play either safety spot or cover the slot."
