New York Giants fans never wanted to see star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. leave the franchise. They did, however, get to see him play the prime years of his career.
In 2019, Beckham Jr. was traded to the Cleveland Browns, where he then became more of a journeyman, making stops with the Los Angeles Rams, Baltimore Ravens and, most recently, Miami Dolphins.
The three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver also admitted he didn't want to leave the Giants, revealing that three weeks ago
"I never, ever wanted to leave the New York Giants," Beckham Jr. said. "The reason you heard me talking about what was going on was because I was pissed because, where I come from in college, if we lost one game, our season was over."
At the Fanatic Fest, the 32-year-old wide receiver and LSU product was told to rejoin the Giants, as one fan shouted.
Beckham Jr. had just three words for the fan.
“I got you," the wide receiver responded.
Beckham Jr. was released by the Miami Dolphins last season, and he caught just nine passes for 55 yards during his lone campaign with the franchise.
Given his age and current standing in the NFL, there is some buzz around a potential retirement, though Beckham Jr. could very well compete for a roster spot somewhere in the league.
Joining another star LSU product in Malik Nabers and rejoining the Giants would be quite an interesting choice for Beckham Jr, who caught 390 passes for 5,476 yards and 44 touchdowns in five seasons with New York.
While Beckham Jr. isn't officially retired, there might not be a ton of interest for the wide receiver on the open market, and the Giants have to approach him if a potential return is going to happen.
