Seahawks Claim S AJ Finley Off Waivers, And Other Roster Moves
The Seahawks claimed safety AJ Finley off waivers a day after he was waived by the Los Angeles Chargers.
Defensive end Myles Adams was waived to make room on the 53-man roster.
The Seahawks also made a couple of changes to the practice squad, signing cornerback Ryan Cooper and receiver Cornell Powell, and releasing cornerback Faion Hicks and running back Brittain Brown.
Finley, who went undrafted out of Mississippi in 2023, appeared in 12 games as a rookie with the Chargers, and 10 this season before being waived, playing a total of 370 snaps on special teams and 69 snaps on defense. Finley was a second-team All-SEC selection in 2021.
Powell, a fifth-round pick of the Chiefs in 2021, has appeared in three regular-season games for Kansas City while also spending time on the practice squad. Cooper, an undrafted rookie out of Oregon State, initially signed with the Ravens following the draft, then signed to Baltimore's practice squad after being waived prior to the start of the season. He was released from the Ravens practice squad last week. Cooper was an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention selection each of the past two seasons.
