Seahawks called the biggest loser in NFC West over 49ers, Rams and Cardinals

For a team that didn't fire their head coach, the Seattle Seahawks have had quite a busy offseason which started with swapping out Ryan Grubb for Klint Kubiak as offensive coordinator.

Seattle went on to trade quarterback Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders and wide receiver DK Metcalf to the Pittsburgh Steelers, in two of the more surprising moves this year.

They lost Dre'Mont Jones, Tyler Lockett, uchenna Nwosu, Roy Robertson-Harris, Pharaoh Brown, Laken Tomlinson, Artie Burns, Tre Brown and Stone Forsythe to other teams in free agency while signing Sam Darnold, Cooper Kupp, Demarcus Lawrence, Eric Saubert, D'Anthony Bell, River Cracraft, Drew Lock, Josh Jones, Steven Sims, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Shemar Jean-Charles.

In the 2025 NFL draft, the Seahawks also added some intriguing prospects, including North Dakota State offensive lineman Grey Zabel, South Carolina safety Nick Emmanwori, Miami tight end Elijah Arroyo and Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe in the first two days.

With all that's happened in Seattle, Bleacher Report's Moe Moton believes they're the biggest loser from the NFC West this offseason, citing that the Seahawks "added older or less established players at key positions."

While no one in the division had a phenomenal offseason, Mike Macdonald's team was the only one to move on from their starting quarterback and top wide receiver and replace them with a former first-round pick trying to remove the "bust" label and an aging veteran whose battled injuries in each of the last three years.

It's not hard to see why Moton feels that way, and while there's a chance that everything works out the way the Seahawks are hoping in 2025, that's not always how football works.

Darnold could revert back to his pre-Vikings self, and Kupp could struggle to create separation or stay healthy, as he has recently. If that's the way things work out, Seattle could drop from a 10-7 record and in second place in the NFC West in 2024 to third or fourth in the division this season.
