Santa Claus ignores Houston Texans' Christmas wish vs. Kansas City Chiefs

The Houston Texans made a Christmas wish, and Santa Claus did not grant that it come true.

Okay, enough of the Christmas talk -- the Texans wanted something to happen, and it just didn't happen. So, they grab their lunch pails and hard hats, and they get back to work. That's Texans football.

Coming into this week, where the Houston Texans are starting a brutal stretch of games, the Kansas City Chiefs had some injury concerns, most notably at quarterback with Patrick Mahomes, one of the greatest to ever throw the ball. He rolled his ankle and actually did not finish out that game against the Cleveland Browns.

And, with them having the No. 1 seed, but not clinched, there was a thought that they may sit Mahomes just to be safe this week. And, that's probably what the Texans were hoping for, as their backup is Carson Wentz.

But, that won't happen.

"Alright, as far as guys that did practice today, it was Chamarri [Conner] and D.J. [Humphries], and then the rest of the guys were out there working. I know the questions are about Patrick. He worked out this week, full, and he'll most likely end up playing. We'll just see how things worked out today," Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said.

The Chiefs are also expected to have Hollywood Brown back, who hasn't played since their preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Texans and no one in their team wish for Mahomes to be injured, or wish for him to remain injured, that's just not cool, but, they do wish that the Chiefs would have sat him.

Think if he was sat, that makes the Texans' job a whole lot easier. But, he won't sit. So, the Texans will have to prepare for the best player in the world.
