Danielle Staub may have recently expressed interest in returning to The Real Housewives of New Jersey. But according to a new report, producers are not on board with the idea at all.
Amid swirling reports regarding the future of the show, some of which suggest the series will be completely rebooted ahead of season 15 and others that speak of a partial recast, sources connected to the show are sharing why there’s no real possibility of a comeback from Danielle, 62.
On October 1, insiders confirmed to TMZ that Danielle is not returning to the show because producers want to move forward, rather than rehash the past and set up an already-divided show for even more division.
The insiders confirm the show is going in a ‘new direction.’ Producers reportedly want to highlight the stories of new women and hope to find a group of ladies who are “positive” and “loving” that will bring new life to the show after a heavy and toxic 14th season.
Although Danielle reconciled with Teresa Giudice, 52, years ago after their messy “prostitution wh*re” feud amid season one, she has still been involved in a number of spats with the casts, including a moment in which she pulled Margaret Josephs‘ hair on season 10.
While appearing on the September 24 episode of The Straightened Out podcast, via Daily Mail, Danielle confirmed she was open to a role on season 15 — but only if producers were willing to bring her back full-time.
“There will be no friend [role]. I will not be playing ‘friend’ and I won’t be there for anyone but me,” she stated. “All gloves are off now, by the way.”
“I think [Bravo] should bring me back to clean house. Reboot with Teresa and I like den mothers for the new girls,” she added.
TMZ went on to note that producers are still “months away” from making any final casting decisions in regard to The Real Housewives of New Jersey season 15.
