Maxx Crosby puts his helmet on after stretching during the first practice of Raiders training camp on July 23, 2025.
Las Vegas Raiders superstar EDGE rusher Maxx Crosby loves to fight during training camp joint practices.
On the most recent episode of Crosby’s “The Rush” podcast, the four-time Pro Bowler said that fights are his favorite memories from training camp.
“I have a hundred percent fight rate at joint practices. A hundred percent,” Crosby said. “And I’m looking forward to continuing that trend because I just know it’s going to happen. I’m not going to try to cause some issues, I just know eventually it’s going to happen and I’m here for it, it’s going to be a lot of fun.”
The Raiders only have one joint practice scheduled this preseason, on August 14 against the San Francisco 49ers. So it’s fair to assume that Crosby has that date on his calendar circled as the day he plans to get his fights in.
The Raiders and 49ers historically have bad blood going back to when the two teams were Bay Area rivals when the Raiders played in Oakland, which gives this potential conflict added intrigue.
Crosby Also Looking Forward To Football Competition
Apart from just the fighting, Maxx Crosby is a huge fan of joint practices and wants to see them continue to be a part of the NFL preseason for years to come.
“Joint practices are a staple, bro,” Crosby said. “It’s just a part of the NFL culture…the preseason is one thing, but I don’t really get to play in the preseason so those joint practices are our gamedays in camp and it’s lit, and it’s a lot of bragging rights.”
Crosby also called training camp joint practices the “purest form” of football competition.
There are several 49ers players that Crosby called out by name as players that he is looking forward to facing during their joint practice.
“Going against the Niners, [Kyle] Shanahan, some of the best coaches in the league, and some of the best players, you got [Nick] Bosa over there, Trent Williams who I’ll be able to go against, Christian McCaffrey, Brock Purdy, a bunch of good a— players,” Crosby said. “I definitely look forward to the challenge.”
The Raiders’ joint practice with the 49ers will be at the Raiders’ Intermountain Health Performance Center in Henderson, Nevada, giving Raiders fans a great chance to have a front row seat to all the football (and all the fights).
However, the practice is exclusive to season ticket members and sold out so any Raiders fan still looking for a ticket may be out of luck.
Crosby Dishes on Relationship With Jackson Powers-Johnson
In other recent Maxx Crosby news, he spoke to the media on Wednesday July 23, 2025 about a variety of Raiders topics.
One of them was his relationship with Raiders center Jackson Powers-Johnson, which Crosby confessed was not great last season.
“To be a hundred percent real, last year me and Jackson did not have a great relationship,” Crosby said. “I’m hard on guys, especially young kids. There’s a respect that’s got to be earned.”
Crosby and Powers-Johnson are clearly much closer now. Powers-Johnson is a regular guest on Crosby’s podcast and the two have already started a friendly competition over being the first to the facility on the mornings of training camp.
But it’s another clear example that Crosby is not the kind of person to back down from anything.
Raiders fans, are you excited to see the Raiders and 49ers compete in joint practice on August 14?
