Raiders Predicted to Make Major Move on Maxx Crosby After ‘Changes’ Promise

This week, some eyebrows were raised across the NFL as Raiders star Maxx Crosby, who has been loyal to the organization throughout his six seasons in the league, let it be known that he is expecting positive changes in Las Vegas' near future, or else he will need to start looking out for himself.

Speaking on his podcast, "The Rush With Maxx Crosby," Crosby noted that when 2025 kicks off, he will be playing for the fifth coach he has had in seven seasons, and that instability is getting to him. The Raiders fired coach Antonio Pierce and GM Tom Telesco after one season this week.

Crosby promised there would be changes coming.

"There's gonna be a lot of decisions to be made, not only on a personal level. But I've gotta make the decision that is best for me. I am gonna see. Obviously, we don't know what the coach is gonna look like, the front office, there is going to be a lot of changes," Crosby said.

He added, "We're gonna see what happens. For me, I truly, I love being a Raider. I want to win here. I want to win with the Raiders. But we'll see. There's going to be a lot of change. I am going to take it one day at a time, that is literally all I can control."

Still, it is unlikely that the Raiders want to let Crosby go anywhere else. He is rehabbing an ankle injury, having missed time for the first time in his career this season, but still had 7.5 sacks on the year and remains one of the league's best pass rushers.

At Spotrac, Crosby is projected to land a three-year, $100 million extension.

As site managing editor Mike Ginnitti wrote in projecting "New Year's resolutions," for top players, "Crosby will enter 2025 with 2 years, $42.8M remaining on his contract, but none of it guaranteed and no early offseason bonuses built in. He was an often vocalized name at the trade deadline, despite both he and the team publicly claiming they remain committed. But the team has continued to downslide and the roster appears to be very much in flux.

"Crosby should be seeking a new deal this spring, but does it make sense for he and the Raiders to lock in to something significant right now? It'll take an aggressive offseason to begin to truly right this ship - but that's exactly what we're anticipating here."
