Raiders a possible destination for superstar receiver

If the Las Vegas Raiders are looking for a franchise quarterback for 2025, he will need weapons to throw to.

When wide receiver Davante Adams was traded in October, an already thin receiving corps became even more so. Tight end Brock Bowers has been a revelation in his rookie year and receiver Jakobi Meyers has performed well, but the Raiders will need more beyond that to help a young quarterback out.

Raiders a possible destination for superstar receiver

One such option the Raiders could explore is Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill.

The 33rd Team’s Tyler Brooke put up a mock trade that would send Hill from South Beach to Sin City. In exchange for Hill, the Raiders would send their 2025 third and fifth round picks to the Dolphins.

“Assuming that the Las Vegas Raiders take Shedeur Sanders in the 2025 NFL Draft, they’re going to want to surround him with as much talent as possible,” Brooke said.

“Sanders has thrived at the college level with the deep ball. According to Pro Football Focus, he has thrown 13 touchdowns with zero interceptions for a 133.0 passer rating when throwing 20-plus yards downfield this season. Hill hasn’t had the opportunity to be nearly as consistent as a deep threat this season, with the Dolphins scheme focused on getting the ball out as fast as possible.”

With the Dolphins performing below expectations this season, it would not be outside the realm of possibility that they move on from Hill this off-season. Hill himself added to the speculation by sending out a post on X stating “It’s time for me to go coach.”

Hill has not been able to enjoy the success of seasons past, with 67 receptions for 805 yards and five touchdowns so far this year. That said, Hill has a reputation as one of the NFL’s premier vertical threats, and the Raiders could certainly use that speed in their offense.

While Hill is an exciting proposition, there is plenty of risk involved. Hill has dealt with nagging injuries that are playing a role in his down season and will turn 31 in March, suggesting that he could lose a step. If the Raiders want to make the move, they will have to do their due diligence to make sure everything works out.

If Hill and the Dolphins are headed towards the splits this spring, the Raiders will be a team to watch.
